About Kimberly

Kimberly McWhorter is from Birmingham Alabama where she received her BFA concentrating in printmaking from the University of Montevallo in 2015. As a first generation college student, she was encouraged by the generous faculty in the McNair Scholars Program to pursue her Master’s degree which she received from the University of Georgia in 2019.

Her work is rooted in both printmaking and papermaking with the incorporation of video, sculpture, and digital fabrication. The multiple and the rituals that accompany making – collecting (multiples) play an important role in her work for it is in the repetition and accumulation that brings forth narrative and transformation. Transformation from the overlooked and discarded object into an uncanny collection revealing fragments of our human experience.

Be weird, draw badly, happy printing!
